Julia lost her second round match against a good playing Alizé Cornet from France 4-6, 3-6 in one hour and 31 minutes on Margaret Court Arena.
After fifteen succesfully matches in a row and the tournament victories in Moscow, Zhuhai and Auckland Jule will have a short break at home now.

Jule is the new champion in Auckland.
She played a very strong match against first seeded Caroline Wozniacki and won the WTA Auckland singles title 6-4 7-6 (4) in only 90 minutes.
With spectacularly power play and incredible winners she won the third tournament in a row and her fifth career title. That was the perfect preparation for the upcoming Australian Open.
World no. 12 on Monday
Jule extended her winning streak now to 14-matches. With her new title Jule reach a career-high ranking of world no. 12 on Monday.

Julia and Porsche are intensifying their collaboration.

After the most successful season of her career in which she climbed up the WTA world rankings to number 14, the Porsche Team Germany player will represent the sports car manufacturer next to Angelique Kerber as a national Brand Ambassador as of 1 January 2018.
“Since my win at the 2011 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and through my Fed Cup appearances for Porsche Team Germany, I have a really special tie with Porsche,” says Julia.
“It’s a big honor for me to now also be able to represent a company of such worldwide renown like Porsche as a brand ambassador. It makes me proud and happy.
“With her dynamism and her fighting spirit, Julia Görges is the perfect match for Porsche,” says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. “In 2017, she has established herself back at the top of women’s tennis and become the German number one.
